Gracie turns FOUR on Monday, February 6th, but we got to celebrate on Saturday with a Fun Zone jumpers party with family and friends! Everyone had a great time running, jumping and celebrating with Princess Gracie!

Meet Charlie - Our NEW cousin!

Our new cousin, Charles Wade "Charlie" Lomax was born last week (01/24) and all of us are so excited that he is here! He is the first boy on the Lomax side and the first "first cousin" for Julia and Gracie! We went to Memphis on Saturday to go meet him and he is absolutely adorable!

Charlie was 9 lbs, 3 oz, 22 inches long so we know that the Rebels will be signing him up SOON!

Julia and Ryan went to the Daddy/Daughter Dance at her school last Friday night and had a BLAST! He was such a gentleman and even took her out to dinner before the dancing (yeah, I know, we have a good one!).

Ballet Tea Party

The girls went to a ballet tea party at their ballet studio on Sunday and had such a great time! They got crowns, had their nails painted and even got a little make up (blush only!). All of the helpers were costumed characters and there were LOTS of princesses around!

We had a fabulous Christmas this year! Lots of fun at our house as we remembered Jesus' birthday!

Christmas Fun!

We had a fun weekend of Christmas activities! We started out on Saturday morning ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. We had two little singers and dancers that helped to fill the kettle!

On Saturday night, we had the annual Dunagan Christmas get-together. One of our favorite activities of the night was that we got to get "rolled" with Pappy as we became a snowman! :)

On Sunday night, we went to Memphis to the zoo to see the Zoo Lights and then over to Shelby Farms for Starry Nights.

It's Christmas Time!

We had one of our first Christmas events, Family Advent night at our church, last week! There were crafts, face painting (a favorite), games with friends and we came home with our family advent wreath! We had a great time with our friends and are blessed with such a great church family!

American Girl High Tea (at USJ)

We went to the High Tea with My Doll & Me at the USJ Holiday Mart on Saturday. We met our friends Mary Payton and Eady and all shared a table with our grandmothers. It was fun seeing all of the American Girl "dolls" at the tea and we came home with an autograph book that all of the dolls signed.

Field Trip to the FARM!

A couple of weeks ago, the USJ Kindergarten class took a trip to Donnell Century Farm, a local real working farm. We had a beautiful fall day to explore the corn maze, play in the corn box, slide down the tube slide and of course, we took a hay ride! Here is Julia and Mary Payton (friends since Playschool) ready to get our day started!

Trick or Treat!

We had a wonderful night for Trick or Treating this year! We started early with daddy (since he was on call) and got the whole neighborhood covered in one hour. Came back to the house and did another round with our neighbors, but don't worry, we only got candy (and lots of it) on the first round!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

We made our annual trip up to Green Acres Pumpkin Patch last Friday and had fun picking out and playing in and out of the aisles of all the wonderful pumpkins!

My Big Back Yard!

We took a little day trip over to the Botanic Gardens in Memphis on Labor Day and explored My Big Back Yard. The weather was absolutely gorgeous when we got there so we had lots of fun exploring all the fun things!

We even got a chance to feed the Koi fish over near the Japanese gardens. Of course, we had to stop for a picture in the bamboo! What a fun little trip, we will have to do it again soon!

Rebel Football!

Well, it's finally here-Rebel football time! We may not have won the game, but we had a fun time in the Grove with the band, cheerleaders, and tailgating! The cutest little Rebel cheerleaders (Julia & Gracie) were hanging out in our tent!

Starlight Symphony

We made our annual trip to the Starlight Symphony this past weekend! It's always held on the grounds of First Pres (our Playschool) so the girls are very familiar and attracts thousands for a free concert put on by the Jackson Symphony! Of course, summer can't end without the firing of the cannons of the 1812 Overture at the Starlight Symphony!
The girls enjoyed their ice cream and push ups that were given away!
We enjoyed a picnic and time with good friends. We even got to spend the evening with our sweet friend Della Day (a Playschool friend) who is now at a different school than the Roy girls. They all loved playing and dancing together!

Ready for Football Season!

The girls are ready for some football! We went to our first USJ football game on Friday night and of course we had to wear our cheerleader outfits. Since Gracie doesn't have an USJ uniform yet, she had a great idea to wear her Ole Miss one since the Bruins have the same colors as the Rebels! We are definitely looking forward to Ole Miss football and the Grove very SOON!

Well, the day finally came that we have been waiting all summer for! Julia started Kindergarten at USJ (University School of Jackson). She was so excited!

We had a chance to take a beach trip down to Watercolor, FL (off 30A) and had a wonderful time. We had some sunny days, some rainy days, and some in between. But we made the most of it and did lots of (beginning) boogie boarding and sand castle building! It was a great week of vacation right at the end of summer!

Lomax Centennial

We went down to Waynesboro, MS this past weekend to celebrate 100 years of Lomaxes! We had a party on Saturday night at Granny and Dandaddy's to celebrate (of course!) and had a fun time with all the Lomaxes, Duncans, and some Waynesboro friends.
We had FOUR generations of Lomaxes there! What an accomplishment! More pictures to come later of the party and our beach trip afterwards.

Ballet Camp

Fourth of July Fun!

We had a busy and fun Fourth of July this year! We started the day with a parade on one of our neighboring streets for their 50+ annual parade. Julia rode her festive bike for the parade.

We went to McKenzie, TN for lunch and visited with our East TN cousin Keaton that was in town for the day. Her grandmother, B, surprised us with these cute little dollies!
We ended the day with friends at our neighborhood "T" with snap-n-pops, sparklers and fireworks! Best (illegal) neighborhood fireworks around!

The girls and I went to a "jumper" birthday party for a 3 year old friend of ours last week! Right after we finished singing "happy birthday," the photographer looked over and caught this cute picture of both of my girls hugging! I saw it all happen and thought, "see, they can be sweet to each other" and "that sure would be a cute picture if she caught it." So, she did and now we all get to enjoy a sweet moment shared between two sisters!

Children's Museum Day

We went to Memphis last weekend with the intention of going to the Zoo and My Big Backyard to play, but the weather was NOT going to cooperate with those plans! So, we made an afternoon trip to the Children's Museum and had a blast! We got to go fishing in the mighty Mississippi, drove a firetruck, worked a Kroger checkout, flew a FedEx plane, explored the treehouse and danced, danced, danced!!!!!

We went down to the Jackson Mardi Gras parade on Tuesday. Even though the weather was a little bit rainy, we had a great time watching the floats and catching beads! These girls are champions at scoring beads! Watch out New Orleans, 2027!

After all of our recent snow days, we were SO happy to have a spring like day in January! Of course we tried to spend as much of the day outside so here are some highlights of our "springy" day!

Snow Day 2011

We got a few inches of snow on Sunday night so we got a day off school on Monday (to play in it!) Cute little snow bunnies posing in front of the house! It all looks SO pretty!

We toasted (early) with sparkling apple juice! The girls were excited about a NEW year and their fancy apple juice, but it wasn't *quite* the taste that they were expecting! :)

Christmas - Part 2 (The Lomaxes)

We went down to Mississippi to spend Christmas weekend with the Lomaxes (Granny, Dandaddy, Kelly, Suzanne, Will and Katie). Katie (above with girls) will be a Lomax in April when we go down to Florida for their wedding, but she made the trip so we include her as an "honorary" aunt for a few more months! It sure was fun to have EVERYONE together at the same time at Granny and Dandaddy's house!

Polar Express

We took a little trip this weekend to Chattanooga to ride the Polar Express. We put on our jammies, got on the train on Sunday night and headed to the North Pole to see Santa and his workshop. The girls were just a *little* excited!
Santa hopped on the train car and got our last minute additions to our Christmas lists!
We assured him that we had been *very* good this year!
After our train ride, we slept in a train car and we even got tucked in by two of Santa's elves! We are now ready for Christmas and can hardly wait for Christmas Eve!

Playschool Christmas

Today was Playschool Christmas program day (as well as Julia's REAL birthday). Both sets (MWF and TTH) of Playschool children were at the program today so there were 96 two, three and four year olds and they all did GREAT! Here are some picture highlights of our children! Julia was happy to see us in the crowd!
Gracie was a great performer for her first Playschool program! She is getting ready to ring her bells for "Jingle Bells"
We stopped for a picture with Mrs. Penny before everyone had to leave. Wish we could have made some pics with some of our other favorite teachers, but there were people everywhere!
Santa even came at the end for the party! We made sure that he had our most updated Christmas lists! Hopefully he will make a stop at our house this year-we've been mostly good!!!! :)

Playschool Birthday Celebration

Julia's actual birthday (12/15) will be Christmas party day so she got to celebrate early at Playschool with birthday snacks. She got a cute sticker to wear all day, the children all sang to her and she even got a cute little "certificate" from the teachers to celebrate!

She and one of her best buds, Meredith, from 3 years of Playschool both got to celebrate their birthdays together! Their birthdays are just a week apart! Happy birthday sweet girls!

We got a chance to go see Santa at the Bank of Jackson on Tuesday! He made a visit to check up on the boys and girls and to read them "Twas the Night before Christmas" while he was there! Rebel Football

Well, it was a really tough season, but we sure did have a fun time down in Oxford on game weekends! The girls are great cheerleaders and dancers and made lots of new friends with the Rebelettes and Rebel cheerleaders this year! I have a feeling that we will have two little girls that are going to grow up wanting to be a Rebelette or Rebel cheerleader! :)

Thanksgiving time must mean one thing - it's Thanksgiving feast time at Playschool! Julia really had her heart set on being a Pilgrim girl this year since she was a little Indian last year! Ole Miss Homecoming Weekend

We made a trip down to Oxford last weekend for Ole Miss homecoming. We missed Daddy (he had to work on Saturday), but had a great weekend watching parades, cheering with the cheerleaders and getting an Ole Miss WIN! Those are harder to come by this year, but we still have fun on our trips!

We went the Memphis Zoo last weekend to their annual Zoo Boo and had a great time trick-or-treating with all of the animals! All dressed up and ready to go!

Gracie got her "big sister" bed this weekend and is now sleeping in it instead of her baby crib! She was so excited to decorate it just like her crib and put ALL her baby dolls in there to sleep with her! We used the regular nighttime routine and it worked!!!! As she tells me, "Mommy, I not a baby ANYmore!!!"

Ole Miss First Game Weekend

We had a lovely weekend for the first Ole Miss football game! The girls got to model their new Colonel Reb dresses and we enjoyed the wonderful fall weather!

We found some friends up on the Grove stage that wanted to be "cheerleaders" with us, even complete with stunts! Watch out for the 2024 Rebel cheerleader/Rebelette tryouts!

And little sister joining in with the cheerleader stunts! Thanks to our new "friends" from Atlanta that we met for playing with the Roy girls!

And to top off our weekend, a trip to Sam's! They were being so cute in the cart and said, "take our picture!!!!" Well, who can resist these two cute smiles?!?!

Katie & Will's Waynesboro Weekend!

We spent a weekend down in Mississippi at the Lomax "compound" for Katie and Will's engagement party! We had lots of fun cleaning, decorating, swimming, and just hanging out with family. We did manage to stop for a picture of the "girls" before all the partying got underway!

Gracie was a little shy during the first part of the party because she was missing her big sister! Julia had a BUSY day and fell asleep 30 minutes before the party started and napped until two hours into it!

Julia had ballet camp last week which was capped off by a mini-performance on Friday! She looked so cute and sweet in her PINK leotard, tights and new ballet shoes!

We went to the 52nd annual Pine Tree Parade (the neighborhood just down from ours) last weekend and had a blast! Zoe invited us to her neighborhood and was such a great hostess (as well as her mom, dad, and baby brother!) We enjoyed decorating the wagon and waving to all the bystanders! It's always fun to be in a parade!

Julia passed Level 2 at swim lessons this week! She has been working really hard on her swimming skills lately and has turned into quite the little fish in the pool! She is SO proud of her new white ribbon! Be sure to ask her about it if you see her! :)

On our trip to St. Augustine, we went to an engagement party for Katie and Will at the World Golf Village! What a beautiful place! The girls got a chance to help Will with the "Challenge Hole." The balls didn't make it too far, but they did win the contest for the females!

We went to the Atlantic Ocean side this year and visited with Uncle Will and his fiancee' Katie in St. Augustine! All the girls wanted to do was play in the sand and on the beach so we spent LOTS of time doing both!

Downtown Florence

We found a horse in downtown Florence on Friday night so we had to hop on! What a cute set of cowgirls!

Then we went over to the campus of UNA to see the lions in their outside habitat! They were sleeping by the time we got there (yeah, at 7:00 pm), but we did find some small lions made out of marble that were just as fun for the girls to see!

Our Alabama Weekend

We took a weekend trip down to Florence, AL for the Memorial Day weekend and had a blast! We all loved the fountains, waterslide and just overall swimming in the pool. LOVE this expression on Julia's face as the fountains "got her!"

The little fish-she spent most of her time {WITHOUT} her floaties, but wanted them for her deepwater swimming! She is doing so great at swimming on her own!

Where the girls spent ALL of their time during the day! Even Gracie got adventurous and got pretty far into the water (well, at least for her!)

First Pool Day 2010

We had a great Sunday afternoon in the pool - the first of many for the summer season! These girls just keep growing and learning so much! Julia jumped off the diving board a couple of times (picked right back up from last summer!) and Gracie had so much fun on the steps and practicing her kicking with mommy and daddy!

Wow, it's been busy around here lately! The wonderful spring weather has gotten us out enjoying lots of activities! We went to the Diamond Jaxx game and Julia instantly found the cheerleaders (surprise!!).

On one of our rainy Saturdays lately, we went to check out the Casey Jones train museum in town! We had a blast checking out all the trains and mommy and daddy found out lots of neat things about Jackson's most famous train conductor.

We sure are getting lots of use of our Zoo membership this year! We have been five times since November and have a great time each time we go. We met our friends that were home from Iowa this past weekend and had a little zoo playdate with the kiddos (and adults!).

We took a little day trip to the zoo this week during Julia and Gracie's "spring break" from preschool! We had a busy Easter weekend-three egg hunts on Saturday, including our annual Northwood hunt (our fourth annual!). Gracie in action above waiting to get started!

Palm Sunday

The children entered our worship service on Sunday morning waving palms and then got a chance to sing in "big" church! The little ones did so good with their song and their signs that went with it. Hallelulia!!!

Easter Egg Decorating

We went over to a friend's house after school today to do some Easter egg decorating! They had a really neat egg spinner that made dying the eggs very simple (and a LOT less messy!). Also, the eggs came out a little tye-dye looking so the girls really liked that! We have definitely gotten a start on decorating eggs since we have FOUR more egg hunts before Easter is all done!

A Parade and a Wedding - Part 2

We had such a great time at the wedding! The girls really enjoyed dancing with (and without) the band and eating the pink (strawberry) wedding cake! They are already making their wish list for what they want when they get married! Watch out Ryan......!!!! But Julia did say that at her wedding she was going to dance with her daddy all night long! So sweet!

A Parade and a Wedding - Part 1

We went to Jackson, MS this past weekend a Lomax family wedding and got to go to the Mal's St. Patty's Parade (3rd largest St Pat's day parade in US!) We had such a good time with the wonderful weather, interesting floats, and the Sweet Potato Queens at the end! Julia and Gracie were on their most adorable behavior and got LOTS of beads!

Spring Weekend at the Zoo

We took advantage of some early spring weather last weekend and made a day trip to the Memphis Zoo! The girls got to ride the carousel (for the first time there!), saw the new baby giraffe and watched the sea lions perform! All in all it was a great day with some wonderful weather!

Gracie's Second Birthday!

Gracie turned 2 this past weekend and we had a blast with her Minnie Mouse birthday party! The dresses were super cute (thanks Neena!) and the cake was SO good (thanks Ms. Tabitha!!!) and looked great, too!

More Snow Days!

When you get 9 inches of snow in West Tennessee and the temps don't get over 32 degrees, you get FOUR great snow days! Ryan and Julia made a "baby" snowman on day three after the ice had fallen on top of the snow. Not so great for snowman making, therefore the small snowman!

Our Visit to MS!

We came down to Mississippi this past weekend for a quick trip over the long weekend! We had a great time visiting with Granny and Dandaddy and playing with all of their toys! Even though it rained, we had a great time!

We got new purses with our own sunglasses, lipstick, cellphone, play perfume and play nail polish from Granny and Dandaddy. So, of course we had to borrow Mommy's scarf to make sure that we were ALL out Hollywood!

Polar Express!

We took a family fun weekend trip to the Polar Express in Chattanooga last weekend and a wonderful time! Our first stop was to make sure that we got a family picture with Santa in the "Choo Choo hotel." Everyone was so happy to see Santa!

Christmas Parade

We finally got a chance to go out to the downtown Jackson Christmas Parade after being here 3 1/2 years! The weather was a little cold, but just right for a night in December. We started with caroling on the steps of our church in downtown, then walked across the street to watch the parade. The girls loved all the Santas driving the tractor, driving the tow truck, in the firetruck and even the "Little General" (hospital mascot) dressed as Santa! What a great night with some CUTE little girls!

Gracie (Rosetta) enjoyed her first Halloween where she could walk all by herself! She was such a trooper and pretty much walked the whole trip on Northwood of trick-or-treating!

Gracie's school had a pumpkin party on Thursday and they got to bring a small pumpkin to school to decorate! After Ms. Melisa read them a cute pumpkin story, the children enjoyed pumpkin muffins and went on to play outside before decorating their pumpkins. It was so fun to watch Gracie at her school!

Gracie got into the cold weather accessories bag this weekend at the hotel and decided that she needed to dress up and dress her baby up! Cute shoes you have on there, baby! We called them her baby Uggs! Pj's are always cuter with your mommy's gloves and a winter hat, right?

The finished product! Baby sure was WARM when she went to bed with Gracie!

Luckily, Julia's baby survived the dress up session and got to stay in her jammies!

Oxford Punkin Patch!

We traveled to Oxford (again) this weekend and visited the Episcopal church pumpkin patch on the square. We just visited this weekend since it was cold and were hoping that we could make a visit to our local pumpkin patch on Sunday when we got back. But, we got lots of good pictures from our visit!

Sweet Sisters and Disney On Ice!

We have been busy lately with some small trips! We have started our fall treks to Oxford for the Ole Miss games and have LOTS of home games in October and November! The girls are getting really good at cheering with the cheerleaders and learning the Hotty Toddy!

We took a little day trip a couple of weeks ago to Memphis for Disney on Ice (a surprise to the girls!). We got to do a little walking around downtown at Mud Island and then rode the trolley around just in time to see the show!

Well, it is definitely fall and we are ready with new candy corn dresses! Neena made the girls coordinating dresses and Pappy made sure to capture all of the beauty (of the dresses AND the girls)! They did great for a 3 year old and a 1 year old with their grandaddy taking their pictures!

We didn't get many smiles from Gracie that day, but got a few cute "faces" from her! Doesn't she look so grown up with ALL that hair? Won't be long before she is 2!

Julia started back at playschool today after a 4 month summer! She was SO ready to get back to see all her friends and her wonderful teachers! She had a great day in the "big kid" class - she is in the 3&4 year old class this year!

This picture just makes me smile - Gracie and her cute "cheese" smiles! Gracie will get to join Julia next year at Playschool and we are already looking forward to it! She would love to just stay now when I drop Julia off!

Starlight Symphony 09

We spent a wonderful night on the grounds of First Presbyterian Church (Julia's playschool) listening to the free concert by the Jackson Symphony (Starlight Symphony)! The girls had so much fun running around, eating popsicles and even stopping to listen to the beautiful symphony music! It was a GREAT concert and wonderful late summer/early fall weather!

Gracie's First Day of School!

Gracie started school today-well, just two days a week at Mother's Day Out but it was her first time to be by herself without her mommy or big sister with her during the day! She had a great time playing with new friends all day until she woke up from her nap and her mommy wasn't there! Here's to a great FIRST year!

We just HAD to have it AND our bow in together! :) Julia was a great helper today and can't wait to start back to her playschool in September. We have a few more weeks until then so we will get some T-TH togethers before she goes back while Gracie is at school.
