Beach Pics - Julia

Let's do this in a couple of posts....first, Julia! Here she is ready for her days on the beach. She had so much fun building sandcastles, playing in the waves and just dancing in the sand!

Beach Pics - Gracie

Now, it's Gracie's turn....she just couldn't wait to get her swimsuit on before trying on her hat and sunglasses. Unfortunately, this is the only time she wore her sunglasses for more than a few seconds!

Beach baby loved the sand, waves, and watching everything that was going on at the beach.

Gotta take time out for a nap under the tent though!

Gracie was trying to cover herself up with sand in the middle of eating it too!

We went to the beach this week, here is a family photo. Hopefully we'll get more photos posted in the next few days.

Playdate with Richard

We went to Memphis on Wednesday to see our friend Beth and her little baby boy Richard! They had come in from Iowa to visit her parents and the girls had so much fun playing with baby Richard! After a wonderful lunch at PF Changs (that was exciting with THREE high chairs!), we enjoyed just catching up with Beth and letting the kids all play together. Beth, tell David we missed him this time, but we will see you ALL soon!

Sleepy Baby!

Gracie fell asleep tonight in the high chair after finishing her peaches and oatmeal cereal and I had to snap a pic. Luckily she let mommy clean her face up before she took a little snooze! What is in those peaches that makes every baby fall asleep in their high chairs?

VBS 2008

Mommy, Julia and Gracie went to VBS this week and had a great time! Julia and Gracie stayed in the nursery while mommy helped with the rising 2nd graders! Here are some pics of Julia and Gracie having fun while mommy "worked."

Daddy Working?

Daddy was on call on Saturday, but he spent most of the day at home. At one point Julia said she wanted to sit on the couch by Gracie, and "Mommy, you need your camera!" So we took this picture! Daddy eventually did have to go to the hospital, but he was glad to be at home as long as he was!!

Sitting Up!

Gracie has been working on sitting up and is getting very good at it. She still needs a little supervision, but LOVES being up now! We will get some pics of both Julia and Gracie together soon, but I snapped this one just of Gracie while Julia was napping today!

Playtime with Daddy!

Gracie got a "new" toy this week and is doing so good in it! She has almost figured out all the activities and has SO much fun with it! She thinks that she is such a big girl now that she gets to "stand up" in her "bouncy toy" (as Julia calls it!).

Of course we couldn't take a picture of Gracie without Julia getting her picture taken. She even picked her own venue for the picture, the Elmo chair!

Daddy came home from work and Julia told him to close his eyes and "go night-night" and then brought him all her night-night toys! We played a fun game of "where's daddy" underneath all the toys! Oh what fun it is to be a dad of two girls!

Happy Birthday Jackson!

Jackson turned 5 this week so we had a little birthday party for him after bathtime on Wednesday night! Julia got to pick out birthday treats for him today at the gourmet dog store and you can see his great treats that she picked out.

Jackson loved getting his birthday treats from Julia and she enjoyed singing happy birthday to him. Everyone that she has seen today has found out from her that it was Jackson's birthday and that he was getting treats for it!

I Do It MYSELF and My New Coverup!

I found Julia putting on her sandals "all by herself" last Wednesday morning so I had to make sure that I got a shot of "I do it MYSELF, mommy!" She can slide her foot into the shoe and now we have to work on getting the straps into the buckles!

Julia got a new swimsuit cover-up that one of Granny's friends made for her! Isn't it adorable? She got to wear it to Water Day at school last week and looked SO cute!

Gracie's First Cereal

Gracie got to try rice cereal for the first time this past weekend! The above picture was our first attempt and she wasn't very sure about it at first.

Getting easier for us to get the spoon and the cereal to "stay" in her mouth.

Mmmm, tastes good! She's almost got the hang of it and even Julia has been helping her "practice" before actual meal time. We'll try to get some pictures of that later!

Gracie's Baptism

Gracie was baptized today at "big" church as Julia calls it. She did so well and cooperated with Brother Ted when he sprinkled her head with the water.

Big sister Julia was very interested in what was going on and loved being at big church. Now we just have to work on whispering in church!

A cute shot from "Gracie's party." Julia thought that today was Gracie's birthday since everyone came over and she even had a cake - she even asked us how old Gracie was going to be today!

Big Sis/Lil Sis

We had some cute big sis/lil sis moments tonight! Here Julia is reading Gracie a book about daddies - how appropriate for Father's Day this weekend! Notice that Gracie IS smiling at Julia! :)

Cute little girls - it's hard trying to get them BOTH to look at the camera, but this one was SO cute of Julia hugging her baby sister!

Gracie thinks that she is a big girl in her new seat! She tries it out a little more each day and just looks so cute in it!

Julia and Gracie modeling their new lamb dresses that Neena made for them! Don't they both look so grown up! Julia will be 2 1/2 this week and Gracie just turned 4 months last Friday.
